A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a field in Dublin over the weekend.

The remains of the 37-year-old man were discovered on Saturday night near Killanarden Hill in Tallaght. The man was from Tallaght.

A post mortem examination was conducted on the body yesterday - and it's believed the man was shot dead.

Gardaí in Tallaght are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
