Gardaí are investigating after a man's body was found in Tallaght, south Dublin on Monday.
The discovery was made at a house in Newhall Court shortly after 4.00pm
Emergency services and Gardaí attended the scene, and the man was pronounced dead a short time later.
The deceased is understood to be aged in his 40s and originally from Lithuania.
The Office of the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau has been notified.
The scene is preserved pending a forensic and technical examination.
The course of the Garda investigation will be determined by the outcome of a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí have said enquiries are ongoing.
