An investigation is underway following an attempted ATM robbery in Co Louth.
It happened in the early hours of this morning on Irish Street in Ardee.
Gardaí say they received a report of an attempt to remove an ATM from a bank at around 4:50am.
The attempted robbery is said to have caused a 'significant amount of damage' to the building.
A digger and a tractor remain at the scene, while a 4x4 vehicle was found burnt out a short distance away.
Nobody has yet been arrested in connection with the incident.
The scene remains closed off this morning to allow for a technical exam.
Gardaí say they're now looking to talk to anybody who noticed anything unusual in Ardee between 3am and 5am this morning.
