An investigation is underway following an armed robbery at a shop in North Belfast last night.

It's understood three masked men carrying suspected firearms entered a shop on the Ballysillan Road shortly before 8.30pm.

They threatened staff and made off with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

No one was injured in the incident.

Two of the men are described as being aged in their late 20s and were wearing hooded tops.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
