Four separate investigations are to be carried out into the cause of a fire at University Hospital Limerick yesterday.
The Gardaí, fire services, the Health and Safety Authority and the hospital are currently looking into the incident after the blaze broke out at around 6.30 on Sunday evening in a plant room on the roof of the hospital.
Patients, staff and members of the public were evacuated and nobody was injured. However smoke is believed to have entered the pediatric unit and several patients have been relocated inside the hospital.
The A&E department which was closed for a time has since re-opened.
