Learn from experts on how you can better plan for your financial future through investing with Bank of Ireland's Invested webinar series.
Over the past year throughout the pandemic, people have saved money simply from staying at home more and not being able to do things like dine out or go shopping in the same ways as before. As a result, a lot of people have built up a nice amount of savings and are now starting to think about their financial futures. One thing that is top of mind when it comes to growing your savings is investing.
But it isn’t always easy to know where to invest. That’s why Bank of Ireland launched its popular 4-part webinar education series – Invested – to help people learn about investing and make the best choices for their financial planning.
The series kicked off in April by covering the basics of investing and the role it can play in your future financial planning, continuing in May with the exploration of The Great Debate: Property or Shares and the last episode in June covered the common mistakes people often make when it comes to investing and most importantly, how you can avoid them! Jeremy Lawson, Chief Economist and Head of ASI Research Institute at Aberdeen Standard Investments explained how the “herd instinct” is a powerful force when it comes to investing and how the seven deadly sins feature as much here as they do in other aspects of life – particularly greed and sloth!
For the fourth and final instalment of the series, Martin Dietz, Head of Diversified Strategies at Legal & General Investment Management, one of the World’s largest fund managers and Leona Nicholson, Head of Investment Management at Bank of Ireland will take a broad look at the types of behaviours and strategies the best investors adopt.
Investing in the year ahead
As the series has gone on, we have learned the basics, how to choose which area is the best investment for you and the common mistakes to watch out for. Now in this final webinar, we will listen to the expert insights of Martin Dietz and Leona Nicholson as they go deep on the themes that will shape the life of the investor as much as they will shape the markets of the future.
The topics being covered will include:
- The impact of the fourth industrial digital revolution from dark kitchens to industrial automation.
- Themes to watch in investing such as changing healthcare needs and the rising middle class in emerging markets.
- How to find new sources of returns in a World of ultra-low interest with higher inflation.
- Investing for growth while remaining vigilant for the unexpected and the geopolitics bubbling under the surface.
- How to invest in a manner that encourages companies to operate with sustainability, climate change and diversity at the heart of their decision-making.
- Alternative asset classes to the rescue. Which ones, why and how?
As always, you will get the chance to send your questions for the experts in advance when you register for the event and they will do their best to cover all of the questions asked on the day. The comments and questions from the audience at the first three webinars have greatly enhanced and added to the conversation.
