Mobile phone operators across Europe have begun stockpiling miniature sim cards in anticipation of the iPhone 5.

The Irish Times reports that European operators have started placing multiple orders for nano-Sim cards.

Apple has yet to confirm the device – but speculation has been mounting that the new phone will be launched in September or October.
