Ireland has woken up to a blanket of snow today.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Warning for snow and ice, warning of hazardous road conditions and poor visibility in many counties.
The warning will remain in place in Donegal until 8am and until 10am in Cavan, Kildare, Leitrim, Longford, Monaghan and Westmeath.
The forecaster also predicted the snow would turn into rain by the afternoon.
Hail and thunderstorms remain possible as well, with strong winds expected in the afternoon
No snow is predicted tomorrow, with patches of rain forecast instead.
Driving safety
The RSA advises anyone driving in snow to check the grip on their tyres before they depart; if they are not in proper working condition, replace them before departing.
Make sure you have wiped down your windshield and mirrors and use dipped headlights so other drivers can see your vehicle.
While driving, leave extra distance between you and other road users as stopping distances increase in snowy weather.
