Remember the day, folks.
Ireland, for one day only, is Europe’s cloudless, sun-drenched, picture perfect island to the west.
It appears, from the Met Eireann photo below, the entire continent is getting through today draped in a thick covering of cloud, while we strut about in our own private patch of clear skies.
It’s expected to rain tomorrow (of course it is) but we’ll deal with that when it comes. Right now we're on the tail end of a week-long, low 20s heatwave bender and, for now at least, we will revel in the notion that we are, once again, for a few hours only, by dint of the haphazard randomness of mother nature, Europe’s envy.
We’ll take it.
