Ireland now has the third lowest 14-day coronavirus incidence rate in Europe, figures show.
Latest figures show Ireland's rate at 129 per 100,000 - higher than only Finland (53 per 100,000) and Iceland (123 per 100,000).
ECDC data shows Luxembourg has the highest rate in Europe at 1,327 per 100,000, followed by Czech Republic (1,282) and Lichtenstein (1,143).
Th UK's 14-day rate now stands at 487 per 100,000 - higher than Germany (302) but lower than Spain (590) and France (919).
Travel
In terms of travel, almost every country in Europe remains categorised as 'red' under the EU's traffic light system - with only parts of Finland and Greenland classified as 'green'.
Countries or regions are only categorised as 'green' if they have an incidence rate lower than 25 per 100,000 and a test positivity rate of lower than 4%.
Yesterday, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said not every part of Ireland has seen the same decrease in COVID-19 incidence rate - highlighting Donegal in particular, where the 14-day rate is at over 280 per 100,000.
The most recent data shows Buncrana as the local electoral area with the highest COVID-19 rates - at 536 per 100,000.
