The sorting of votes for the Ireland South Constituency gets underway in Cork city this morning.
The European election votes of the six counties of Munster and four in Leinster will be counted tomorrow.
Ballot boxes from across Ireland South are making their way to the Nemo Rangers count centre this morning to join those delivered overnight.
Local election ballots for Cork City and County will be separated from the European election ballots before being transferred to Cork City Hall with a Garda escort.

There are 23 candidates vying for five seats in this large electoral area which contains 1.8 million people.
Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune is not contesting this election after 10 years in Europe, while her party colleague veteran Seán Kelly will be seeking another term after first taking up the role in 2009.
