This week, Ireland will enjoy an unseasonably warm weekend for October.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 23C and high temperatures are forecast across all 32 counties.
“There will be some good sunny spells predominantly across the south-east of the country,” the Irish Weather Channel’s Cathal Nolan said.
“Elsewhere across the north, the north-west, there will be that little bit more clouds… but certainly feeling warm for all areas.
“On Sunday, it’ll be a similar case again.”
Record setting
Planet Earth has recorded the warmest September in history and it is possible Ireland could record its warmest ever October day.
The previous record was set 115-years-ago in Clongowes Woods when the mercury hit 25C - just a smidgen over tomorrow’s forecast.
Weather forecasts in Ireland this year have varied widely; in June, Ireland experienced an “absolute drought” but just a month later, the heat had given way to the wettest July on record.
