Ireland's first baby of 2020 was born just 12 minutes after midnight.
Her mother, Patience Setuke delivered the girl in the Rotunda Hospital and she weighed just over 7lbs.
Another girl was born in Cork University Maternity Hospital at 22 minutes past midnight.
Children were also born before 1 o'clock this morning in Galway, Waterford and Tipperary.
Meanwhile over 392,000 babies are expected to be born across the world this New Year's Day.
That's according to Unicef, which says Fiji in the Pacific will most likely deliver 2020's first baby.
It says 2 and a half million newborns died in their first month of life in 2018 - and is calling for countries to invest in health workers to save babies.
