With the marking of the centenary of the Free State, Newstalk want to find out who just who is Ireland’s Greatest Hero.

So, who do you think is the person who has made the most significant contribution to Irish life over the past one hundred years? Is it someone from the world of sport, politics, philanthropy or entertainment? We want to hear from you.

Voting ends at 4pm on Wednesday July 27th with the winner being revealed on a special Newstalk Bank Holiday programme 'Ireland's Greatest Hero' presented by Simon Tierney on August 1st from 1pm.
