Ireland’s top Google search results of 2024 have been revealed by the tech giant.
Every year, Google releases a list of the top topics, people, events and words that most interest people.
This year, topping the list of the most searched terms was the Euros - in which Spain triumphed over England.
Placing second was the rollercoaster US Presidential Election, while Donald Trump was also the 10th most searched term of the year.

Netflix’s smash hit Baby Reindeer came fourth and the Olympics placed fifth.

Image: David Fitzgerald/SportsfileCloser to home, the top ‘How to’ question asked of the search engine was ‘How to register to vote?’ A reflection, no doubt, of the fact that Ireland went to the polls three times this year - once in March for the two referendums, again in June for the local and European elections and again last month for the General Election.
Housing issues also featured; the fourth most asked question was ‘How to claim mortgage interest relief?’ and the eighth was ‘How to claim rent tax credit?’
The results also give an insight into which deaths had the most impact on Irish society.
One Direction’s Liam Payne, who died suddenly in Argentina in November, placed first and British teenager Jay Slater, who went missing in Spain in July, came second.
