An Irish aid-worker will be honoured in Haiti today for two decades spent helping in one of the poorest countries in the world.
Business graduate Gena Heraty from Mayo, left Ireland in 1993 to spend a year rescuing special needs children in the capital Port Au Prince - she now runs a care home, two rehab centres and a school.
Her commitment will be celebrated at her local orphanage by supporters who have set up a fund to help continue her work.
Gena says much of the money raised will be used to buy medicines for children who've been abandoned because their parents can't afford to care for them.
