The Irish Cancer Society is to refuse donations from a high profile law firm.
It has taken the stance against Arthur Cox, after it emerged last week that JTI Ireland - which it advises - had warned the government of legal action if it did not stop work on plain packaging legislation.
JTI Ireland sent a letter to Children's Minister, James Reilly, warning they will take legal action if he does not halt the plans.
The group owns the Benson and Hedges and Silk Cut brands.
The Arthur Cox firm donated €20,000 to the Irish Cancer Society in 2013 and 2014.
