Will Sliney, a comic book artist from Cork, has turned his attention to the leaders of the 1916 Rising with his latest sketch. 

Sliney, whose book Celtic Warrior: The Legend of Cú Chulainn was a best-seller, shared an image which he drew of the leaders of the 1916 Rising as comic book characters, including Michael Collins, Countess Markievicz, James Connolly and Padraic Pearse.

Posting on his Facebook page, Sliney stated that he will draw 16 figures from the Rising in all, and if there are any that you would like to see, you can let him know there.

The Cork man has also been the illustrator on Marvel's Spiderman 2009, which has been a hugely successful series for both the publisher and Sliney himself.
