A former girlfriend of Hollywood actor Jim Carrey has been found dead in her apartment in California, the Los Angeles coroner says.
Irish-born Cathriona White, from Co Tipperary, was found dead on Monday night, deputy chief coroner Ed Winter said.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, he said.
Ms White, 30, had been in and on-and-off romantic relationship with Carrey since 2012.
She had moved to Los Angeles in 2009 and worked as a beauty therapist.
In a statement released following the news, Carrey said:
"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.
"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.
"My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
