Irish company Camara Education says it is to expand into the United States.
Camara works to improve education in disadvantaged communities.
The social enterprise says it is entering Silicon Valley in order to access further reserves of old computer equipment.
Camara was found 7 years ago.
It has to date supplied over 33,000 computers to educational organisations in East Africa, Jamaica and Ireland.
Their work has benefited over 350,000 children.
The firm held its first public event in the United States at the beginning of August at the Plug and Play Tech Centre in Silicon Valley.
It has teams in the US, Africa, the UK and Ireland.
