Customers and staff at the flagship Regent Street shop were surprised when the store was suddenly hosting a lively rendition of Irish Rover. A trio of musicians played fiddle and ukulele while the rest danced and sang along with the iconic folk song. Other protesters carried signs reading 'Luck of the Irish - iDodge tax' and 'Take a tax holidy in Ireland'.

The flash mob - not the first group to sneakily invade an Apple store - were led by comedian Mark Thomas, who is currently developing a comedy show called '100 Acts of Minor Dissent', recounting his efforts to get involved with 100 small protests over the course of a year.

Speaking outside the shop following the short mini-céilí, Thomas told the assembled crowd "it's austerity, and multinationals who are turning over billions of pounds of profit have got to make sure they pay their bit. And if they are tax dodgers and tax avoiders, we will make a scream and we will a scene and shout as much as we can"
