Irish journalist Donie O’Sullivan is taking up a senior role at international broadcaster CNN.
The US channel says the Kerry native is to be promoted to Senior Correspondent at the network.
It comes just three months before Americans head to the polls in the presidential election.
Donie O'Sullivan has spent the past decade reporting on the spread of online misinformation.
He received a 2024 Emmy nomination for "outstanding science and technology coverage" for his reporting on the effect social media platforms and conspiracy theories have on families.
CNN says he will continue his reporting across all platforms on the role misinformation is playing in the 2024 election.

He has also worked across multiple teams including with the network's documentary unit.
Donie O’Sullivan first joined the network in 2016 as a producer where he specialised in finding and verifying social media material.
He went on to become a technology reporter where he focused on how social media companies handled misinformation, hate and extremism.
O’Sullivan was also part of the reporting team that uncovered several major Russian government-linked social media campaigns in the run-up to the 2016 US presidential election.
His work was later used by US Congress investigators and others examining the extent of Russian meddling ahead of the election.
Before joining CNN, O’Sullivan worked for social media verification news agency Storyful in Dublin and New York.
