Stephen Cunningham vowed in January to cycle from Dublin to Beijing in an effort to raise €50,000 for Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin.
The 28 year-old has now cycled over 10,000km and reached his final destination. He arrived in China a few days ago.

After 6 months of travelling, Cunningham, now joined by a friend, is enjoying some time off in China before his Visa runs out and he must return home.

The cycle enthusiast has survived off a mere €30 a day budget which has left him hungry, exhausted and sleeping outdoors in just a sleeping bag on many occasions.

Cunningham has documented the entire journey on his blog, Dublin2Beijing.com, where he regularly updated readers with his accomplishments, his experiences and photographs, whenever he finds a Wi-Fi signal that is.
"Having thought about the potential this endeavor has to do real good in the world, I am now realising it’s less about the difficulty of cycling 16,000km, and more about the cause. Cycling is relatively easy in the grand scheme of things, and I’ll be sure to enjoy myself.
"With the cuts being made to healthcare in the country, and the delays to the National Children’s Hospital, the potential €50,000 has to do good for so many sick children is immense," he wrote.
