Two 19-year-old men are being questioned in Liverpool tonight after an attack that has left an Irish man fighting for his life.
The 24-year-old was found with serious head injuries in an alleyway in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Merseyside Police have recovered CCTV footage of the incident and are appealing for witnesses.
They believe the man was assaulted following an altercation with two other men near the Walkabout bar and Level nightclub in the city.
Detective Inspector Matthew Kerr told The Liverpool Echo that, “this was a nasty attack on a man who had been enjoying a night out. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack and is currently in a critical condition in hospital.".
