An Irish man has been shot and killed in Nigeria.

The incident happened yesterday in the east of the country.

It is believed the man named as Robert Gray had been working in the country.

The Department of Foreign Affairs say they are aware of the case.

They are offering consular assistance to the family of Mr. Gray.
