There were once 8,000 Irish missionaries across the world, but today there are only 1,500 and most of them are over 50.

On Talking Point today, Sarah spoke to Sr Eileen Rabbitte, an incredible Columban nun just home after 40 years in Peru in her first Irish radio interview.

Her panel discussed the great work missionaries did, and also asked if there was harm as well as good. Sarah was joined by:

  • Fr Eamon Aylward, Acting Director of World Missions Ireland, who worked in Mozambique from 1993 to 2004,
