Aisling McCarthy-Brady will make her third appearance in court in Boston today accused of assaulting a baby who later died. The 34-year-old Cavan native is charged with the assault and battery of Rehma Sabir.

She has been in custody since last month when the case was adjourned.

Her lawyers have previously said Ms. McCarthy-Brady is "devastated" by the accusation and strongly denies any involvement in the death of the 1-year-old.

She is still being held on an assault charge and her passport is in the hands of the authorities. She is being held on a bond of US$500,000 (€386,539).
