Workers at Irish Rail have announced plans for rolling work stoppages if the company goes ahead with pay cuts.
The action is due to begin with a 48-hour strike starting Sunday August 24th, which could then be followed by a 24 hour stoppage on two Sundays in September.
These would affect services on on Sunday September 7th and Sunday September 21st.
The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) says its members have rejected Labour Court-backed proposals over three separate ballots.
Irish Rail says the savings are essential for the survival of the company.
But NBRU General-Secretary Dermot O'Leary says it is not too late for management to change course.
