A segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week saw a number of members of the public receive free hair cuts, right in the middle of a humid street in Hollywood.

There was one small complication: the barber - Guillermo - had never cut hair before.

An Offaly lad named Diarmuid Higgins was willing to brave the chair, the blade and the inevitable Offaly puns that followed from the host. 

It's fair to say the final cut wasn't quite up to the standards of what you'd get in a proper barber shop, but Diarmuid seemed pleased with the results. Although perhaps he was just happy to appear live on American TV and give proper Irish red hair the media exposure it deserves.
