The Irish Refugee Council has expressed concern that plans to speed up the asylum process don't go far enough.

Its reported the government is due to announce a "Fast Track" system which would process asylum applications within six months for those who've been living in Direct Provision for more than five years.

A report in today's Irish Times says payments to those in direct provision are also likely to be increased.
