A world record attempt for the longest ever Irish language conversation is being launched today.
Comhra 14 will be unveiled during a special show on the Seachtain na Gaeilge website and will include interviews with the world record attempt team.
The attempt is being streamed live on www.snag.ie where 169 hours of non-stop, Irish language chat can be heard from 12pm today until its finale at 1pm on the 12th of October.
Brenda Ní Ghairbhí, Sheachtain na Gaeilge Bainisteoir, explains.
“I suppose just to do something different, to do something online, to do something global at a time of year when maybe there aren’t a lot of big events happening in the Irish language calendar.
“So we’re Hoping to encourage loads of groups from all around the world to take part, to get talking as gaeilge and to get others to join in the conversation and to follow it.”
