A Westmeath teenager who was killed in a road crash in England has been named locally as Philip Ganly from Drumraney.
The 19-year-old died after being hit by a lorry while crossing the A2 near Canterbury in Kent yesterday.
The flag at Maryland GAA club is flying at half mast today following on from the tragedy involving one of its members.
Philip died after being hit by a lorry while crossing the A2 near Canterbury in Kent at about 12pm. He was declared dead at the scene.
The teen was studying in the UK after completing his education last year at Moate Community School.
Philip is survived by his parents Mick and Mary, his brother James and sister Laura.
