On yesterday’s programme we heard from Environment Minister Phil Hogan about his outline for Irish Water and how much people will be paying for Water from the third quarter of this year.

The government signed off on a deal on water charges yesterday which will see an average bill of €240 per household, with larger free allowances for families with more children.

On today's programme Elizabeth Arnett, head of communications with Irish Water, discussed the impact of no standing charge saying that "the price per litre will be higher" as a result.

The price per litre will be decided by the regulator with a decision due in August.
