The Irish woman who died in a bus crash in Dubai yesterday has been named locally as Fiona Geraghty from North County Dublin.
The 27-year-old teacher from Balbriggan was one of 17 people killed when the bus smashed into a motorway warning sign at around 6pm local time (1pm Irish time) yesterday.
It is understood her boyfriend, who is from Lanesboro in County Longford, is being treated for injuries.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is aware of the case and is ready to provide consular assistance if needed.
Local media reports that 12 Indian nationals and two Pakistani nationals were among the others killed, while a number of other passengers were injured.

The Omani driver of the bus is receiving treatment in hospital, Gulf News reports.
Dubai police have offered their "sincere condolences and sympathies" to the families of those who died.
