The Department of Foreign Affairs is offering consular assistance to the family of an Irish woman and her daughter who were killed in a car crash in Poland yesterday.

Yvonne Long (30), who is originally from Kilcornan in Co Limerick, died along with her daughter (2) when the car they were in was hit by another car.

The vehicle was parked when it was struck near Krakow.

Yvonne's husband and their 7-month-old baby were also in the car at the time but were not injured.
