An Irish man is in critical condition following a serious moped crash in Thailand.
25-year-old Cork man David Horgan was travelling in Phuket when he crashed his moped on Saturday July 13th.
He suffered a brain bleed and broke multiple bones in his face and skull.
Mr Horgan remains in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of Phuket Hospital and will need several major operations to address his injuries.
His family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to bring him home safely.
Mr Horgan is also senior goalkeeper for Tramore Athletic Football Club.
"David is a beloved club member and teammate, known for his humour and spirit and has been an ever present in between the posts in Tramore Park since he was a child," the club says in a statement.
"We are devastated by this accident and we appreciate every donation towards David's medical expenses.
"Every cent will count and will go directly towards his treatment and recovery," it adds.
'It's all about getting him home'
Tramore Athletic Chairman Conor McCarthy says his latest surgery went well.
"David suffered a number of cuts and injuries to his skull and his head," he said.
"The latest update is David had surgery recently; he's after [having] a couple of procedures.
"His latest surgery went well on Monday and now it's all about getting him home now and his recovery," he added.
