Singer Chappell Roan sparked online debates recently when she said all of her friends who have children are “in hell”.
On the Call Her Daddy podcast, the pop star said “all of my friends who have kids are in hell.
“I actually don’t know anyone who’s happy and has children at this age; anyone who has light in their eyes, anyone who has slept.”
Katie Makk from the Opinions Matter podcast told Lunchtime Live that, as a mother, the sentiment resonated with her.
“Don’t get me wrong, I would never change my kids,” she said.
“But it is without a doubt the most difficult job in the world, and nothing prepares you for it, nothing.
“People tell you your life is going to change when you have kids and you’re kind of like, ‘How much can it change?’”
Ms Makk said she believes there is a stigma around parents admitting they aren’t having the time of their lives.
