Some members of our society are as a matter of course, mocked, patronised, pitied and culturally oppressed because they cannot or will not conform to the romantic norm – they are single.

Are they deviations from the Darwinian compulsion to pair up, or liberated from the capitalist and religious chains of the permanent monogamous relationship?

Sarah was joined by a single man, a single woman and a therapist to look at the positives of flying solo. Her panel was:
