The ISPCA are appealing to people to think carefully before buying a puppy this Christmas.
The Irish Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says that people should avoid buying online, and has set up has set an advisory group to develop guidelines for the sale of pets on the internet in Ireland.
The animal rights organisation is highlighting the commitment involved in being dog owner, to people considering a new puppy this Christmas.
