The ISPCA is appealing for information about six dead animals found dumped in a stream outside Killallon in Co Meath.
The group responded to a call from Meath County Council on November 5th, and they discovered three fertilizer and cattle feed bags.
One bag contained the body of an adult female white goat, the second the bodies of three male black puppies, and the last contained the bodies of two black female dogs.
The ISPCA says none of the dogs were microchipped and the goat was not tagged.
As a result, an owner has not yet been located.
The ISPCA says it appears the animals were not in the water for very long, and all were dumped at the same time.
ISPCA inspector Elaine Whyte said: "This is a truly horrific form of cruelty, resulting in the sad deaths of six animals".
"We encourage anyone with any information about the animals to come forward in confidence".
They are appealing for anyone who may have information about these animals - or the circumstances surrounding their death - to come forward in confidence on the ISPCA National Animal Cruelty Helpline on 1890-515-515 or report in confidence online.
