Israel's top military intelligence analyst has claimed there is evidence that Syrian Government forces have used chemical weapons in their fight against opposition rebels.
Brigadier General Itai Brun made the comments at a security conference in Tel Aviv, saying he was 100% certain that nerve gas was used in the Aleppo area.
The comments come less than a week since France and Britain made similar assertions to the United Nations and are likely to put pressure on the United States to act after they warned that any use of chemical weapons in Syria could trigger international intervention.
It's claimed that Assad may only have delpyed a test amount of the weapons without the intention to kill to guage the international community's reaction.
