Smyths Toys has told staff at a Dublin branch to take down a sign on the door informing members of the public they had removed products made in Israel from their shelves.
A spokesperson for Smyths, which is a Galway-based retailer, said the sign had been put up by staff in Jervis Street.
The spokesperson said Smyths doesn't "engage in national or international political affairs" and "the decision has now been reversed. Our customers should be free to make their own decisions."
The sign stated that the store had removed products made in Israel by AMAV and other companies. AMAV specialise in arts & crafts products.
