Israel's Prime Minister has claimed he'll annex settlements in the occupied West Bank - if he's re-elected.

Benjamin Netanyahu's pledge during a TV interview comes ahead of Tuesday's general election.

The West Bank is seen by Palestinians as the heartland of a future state.

130 Irish troops will arrive back in Ireland today, following a six-month deployment in the Golan Heights and Syria.

Troops from the the 58th Infantry Group were due back from their mission with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force on Thursday.

However, issues with the conflict in Syria prevented them from flying, as flights are organised on a case by case basis.

Theresa May has said Brexit could "slip through our fingers" if no compromise is reached with Labour.

The British Prime Minister has warned that the longer the process takes, the higher the chances are that the UK will never leave the EU.

Mrs May has already confirmed she's going back to Brussels in the next few days to ask for a short extension to the withdrawal date.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, meanwhile, said he is still waiting to see her government's red lines move.

The Irish Medical Organisation says it hopes the new GP contract agreed with government will go a long way to encouraging young doctors into the practice.

Under the reforms, there will be a 40% increase in funding for general practice over the next four years.

It also includes proposals to provide free GP care to children under 12 on a phased basis, starting next year.

A man has died following a crash in Co Wicklow this morning.

It happened on the R755 at Larragh, shortly after 2am.

The pedestrian - who was in his 40s - was hit by a car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver - a woman in her 20s - was not injured.
