Met Eireann has issued a status yellow low temperature warning for all of Ireland.

Temperatures are expected to drop to minus four or five degrees overnight in places.

The northerly airflow that had kept temperatures up has now eased, leaving Ireland exposed.

The clear skies are also leading to lower temperatures and frost and ice can be expected.
