Michelin star chef Dylan McGrath is closing two of his restaurants in Dublin city centre.
In a message to customers, he was closing his Brasserie Sixty6 and Rustic Stone restaurants to focus on making Fade Street Social “the best it can be”.
He noted that the hospitality industry has “faced many challenges in recent years due to rising costs and economic pressures”, adding that he chose to close the restaurants because “it’s simply not sustainable anymore”.
Brasserie Sixty6 has been trading for 25 years, while Rustic Stone has been open for 15 years.

"No doubt we will miss the restaurants, but selling on the leases and concentrating on Fade Street Social currently is what’s needed. We wish the new occupiers all the success for the future," he said.
Mr McGrath also thanked everyone involved in the running of his restaurants adding: "Hospitality is changing and we believe our strong work ethic is better applied to new and different opportunities."
The Brasserie Sixty6 website is directing customers to visit its sister restaurant Fade Street Social.
Data from the Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) shows more than 570 restaurants, cafés and other food-led businesses have closed in Ireland since the Government hiked hospitality VAT last September.
