Dublin Bay South TD Ivana Bacik has been confirmed as the 14th leader of the Labour Party.
Deputy Bacik was elected to the role as the only candidate.
She follows in the footsteps of Alan Kelly who resigned his position as leader earlier this month.
Speaking outside Leinster House at the time, Deputy Kelly said he had been informed by party members that they no longer had confidence in him.
Deputy Bacik was returned to Dáil Eireann after winning the Dublin Bay South by-election last summer – picking up nearly one-third of first preference votes.
She is the second woman to lead the party, after Joan Burton who served as leader between July 2014 and May 2016.
