Last week we brought you the very daring unveiling of the all-new Jaguar XF when it drove along two tightropes over the heart of London. The car has now been debuted at the New York International Auto Show.
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, said: "I believe the all-new XF is the best looking car in its class. Elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity - the all-new XF is true to the great tradition of sporting Jaguar saloons while being completely of its time."
Expected to land later this year, this elegant looking machine will consist of the following trims: XF Pure/ SE, XF Prestige, XF R-Sport, XF Portfolio, XF S.
Jaguar says that the all-new XF is lighter, more efficient, and has more technology than before. To the rear the all-new XF will offer 15mm more legroom, 24mm more knee room and up to 27mm more headroom. Inside will be a new 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system. This, we’re told, will offer seamless iOS and android connectivity.
Powertrains on offer will be 163PS and 180PS 2.0-litre diesel manual and automatic; RWD, 240PS 2.0-litre petrol automatic; RWD, 300PS 3.0-litre diesel automatic; RWD and AWD, 340PS and 380PS 3.0-litre petrol automatic.
The all-new XF contains a double-wishbone and Integral Link suspension. If the car drives over low-friction surfaces like ice or snow the “All-Surface Progress Control” kicks in which keeps the car steady, and according to Jaguar “all the driver has to do is steer.”
The video below shows Ian Callum of Jaguar talking mainly about the interior of the new XF.
