A search of a section of open ground near the Wicklow and Kildare border in the investigation of the disappearance and murder of Josephine 'Jo Jo' Dullard has been completed, Gardaí have said.
The investigating team said recent Garda activity has been of assistance.
Jo Jo’s family have been updated on the current position of the investigation.
The Gardaí will not be commenting further on the searches “for operational reasons”, a press release said.
The site of the search operation was around 15 minutes from the 21-year-old’s last known location in Moone, County Kildare.
A 55-year-old man became the first person to be arrested in the case since the Kilkenny woman disappeared almost 30 years ago in mid-November.
He was released without charge on November 12th.
Disappearance
Josephine ‘Jo Jo’ Dullard was last seen on November 9th, 1995, as she made her way home from a night out in Dublin.
The 21-year-old missed the last bus to Kilkenny and instead got a bus to Naas in Kildare in the hope of hitchhiking the rest of the way.
After hitching two lifts from Naas to Moone in County Kildare, she phoned her friend and told her that another car had stopped and she was going to take the lift.
That was the last time her family or friends heard from her.
Gardaí acknowledged the significant response of the public to recent appeals - they continue to appeal to any person with any information to come forward.
