The Tánaiste Joan Burton says that a Fine Gael-Fianna Fail government would be too right wing for a lot of voters.
Ms Burton reiterated her belief that returning the current government is the only option for stability.
She also said that a coalition propped up by a large number of Independents would be too unstable.

The Tánaiste has also criticised Sinn Féin's tax policy - saying they were one of the biggest opponents of the USC when it was introduced.
Sinn Féin now say they would largely keep the charge if elected to government.
The Labour leader says she does not believe Sinn Féin could lead a credible left-wing government.
Joan Burton says some of Gerry Adams' past pledges have disappeared in their current manifesto.
