Jonathan Dowdall has lost his appeal against the severity of the sentence he received for facilitating the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel.
The former Sinn Fein councillor was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting assisting the Hutch gang by making a room at the hotel available to them on February 5th, 2016.
Dowdall complained to the Appeals Court that he had been duped and put into the firing line for the attack.

Today, however, the Court of Appeal ruled against him with Judge George Birmingham saying the original sentence was "very lenient".
